Five Indian-origin men booked after gas station robbery in Ontario, Canada

Ontario: Five men of Gujarat origin were arrested following a robbery at a gas station in a small community in Ontario’s Middlesex County, rural Canada.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers were called to a gas station near Ilderton, north of London, at around 7:45–8 p.m. on January 11 after receiving reports of a robbery at the premises, which includes a convenience store and an attached LCBO outlet.

Police said a group of men allegedly entered the store and stole several items, including a coffee machine and a microwave, along with other goods. An employee who was alone at the time was reportedly threatened and instructed to step back while the suspects removed items from the store. The entire incident lasted approximately five minutes.

When OPP officers arrived at the scene, the suspects were still present and were taken into custody without incident. The stolen items were later recovered from the suspects’ vehicle.

The accused have been identified as Devangkumar Patel (33), Yogeshkumar Patel (45), Bhavinkumar Patel (38), Mitulkumar Patel (38), and Ricky Patel (29). All five are residents of Toronto.

They have each been charged with robbery and mischief under $5,000 under the Criminal Code of Canada. Police said they have been unable to confirm whether the five men are related, despite sharing the same surname.

The accused were released from custody following their arrest and are scheduled to appear in court on February 26. OPP officials said the investigation is ongoing and no further details are being released at this stage. DeshGujarat
