Winter Chill Lingers as Gujarat Sees Minimum 9 Degree Temperature

Gandhinagar: Several parts of Gujarat experienced below-normal temperatures over the past 24 hours, according to the latest weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ahmedabad. The lowest temperature in Gujarat was reported in Porbandar which was 9 degree, a -5.1 departure from normal.

As per the IMD data recorded at 8:30 am on January 25, maximum temperatures across most districts remained 2 to 6 degrees Celsius below normal, indicating continued mild winter conditions.
Among the cities, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Surat reported below normal maximum temperature.

In Ahmedabad, the maximum temperature stood at 24.4°C, which is 3.7°C below normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 14°C. Similar conditions prevailed in Amreli, Gandhinagar, Baroda, Bhavnagar, Porbandar and Dwarka, where both maximum and minimum temperatures stayed lower than seasonal averages.

 

Bhuj reported one of the lowest departures, with the maximum temperature at 22°C, which is 5.8°C below normal, while Rajkot recorded 27°C, about 4.8°C below average.

Coastal and south Gujarat regions remained comparatively warmer. Surat recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 28.3°C, though it was still 1.1°C below normal.

The IMD confirmed that no rainfall was recorded in any district during the observation period, maintaining dry weather conditions across Gujarat. Weather experts indicate that the absence of rainfall and continued cooler temperatures are typical for this time of the year, though slight fluctuations may be observed in the coming days.

The Meteorological Department has advised residents, especially in northern and Saurashtra regions, to continue taking precautions against mild cold conditions during early morning and night hours. DeshGujarat
