Cold conditions persist across Gujarat as maximum temperatures stay below normal

Ahmedabad: Cold weather conditions continued to prevail across Gujarat during the last 24 hours, with most parts of the state recording below-normal maximum temperatures, according to the weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Several cities witnessed a noticeable dip in daytime temperatures, ranging between 2°C and 5°C below normal, while night temperatures showed mixed trends.
Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 25.3°C, which was 3°C below normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 16.1°C, about 3.3°C above normal. In Vadodara, the maximum temperature dropped sharply to 25.6°C, nearly 4°C below normal, with a minimum of 15.8°C, slightly above average.
The coldest daytime conditions were observed in Bhuj, where the maximum temperature dipped to 22.8°C, 5°C below normal, while the minimum was recorded at 11.8°C. Meanwhile, Naliya was the coldest place during the night at 9.0°C, closely followed by Amreli at 9.2°C.
Among Saurashtra cities, Rajkot registered a maximum temperature of 27°C, 2°C below normal, and a minimum of 11.2°C, which was 1.8°C below normal. Bhavnagar reported a maximum of 24.9°C, also 3°C below normal, while the minimum temperature was 15.2°C.
Deesa recorded a maximum of 24.8°C and a minimum of 12.3°C, while the state capital Gandhinagar reported 25°C as the day’s high, remaining 3°C below normal.
Coastal areas remained relatively warmer. Surat recorded a maximum temperature of 28.4°C and a minimum of 16.2°C, while Veraval and Porbandar recorded minimum temperatures of 16.7°C and 14.4°C, respectively.
The meteorological bulletin also stated that a trough from south Punjab to Kutch across west Rajasthan and north Gujarat at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists. DeshGujarat
