Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat witness above-normal minimum temp as mercury fluctuates across Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Gujarat experienced mixed night temperatures on Monday night, with minimum readings hovering both above and below normal across regions, according to the weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) this morning.
The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Naliya (Kutch) at 9.4°C about 1°C below normal indicating mild cold conditions.
Several other regions also witnessed below-normal night temperatures. Bhuj recorded 11°C, while Rajkot registered 11.4°C, both slightly cooler than seasonal averages. Amreli and Porbandar reported minimum temperatures of 12°C, marginally below normal. Kandla logged 12.7°C, while Dwarka recorded 14.2°C, around 2.4°C below normal.
In contrast, many central and coastal districts reported warmer-than-usual nights. Baroda recorded a minimum of 19°C, which was 5.4°C above normal, while Ahmedabad settled at 17.2°C, about 4.4°C higher than usual. Bhavnagar reported 18°C, and Surat recorded 18°C, both above normal.
Along the coastline, Veraval recorded 17.8°C and Okha 16.5°C. The Union Territories of Daman and Diu witnessed minimum temperatures of 17.2°C and 15.1°C respectively, with slight variations from normal levels.
No rainfall was reported anywhere in the state during the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the trough extending from the induced cyclonic circulation over Haryana and neighbourhood to southwest Rajasthan at 1.5 km above mean sea level continues to persist. DeshGujarat
