Minimum temperatures dip across Gujarat; Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Rajkot below 15°C

Ahmedabad: Gujarat experienced a noticeable dip in minimum temperatures on Tuesday, with several regions recording below-normal night temperatures, according to the latest weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) this morning.

In major cities across Gujarat, night temperatures remained on the lower side. Ahmedabad recorded a minimum temperature of 13.6°C, slightly above normal, while Vadodara (Baroda) witnessed a sharper dip with the mercury settling at 11.8°C, which is 1.8°C below normal. Rajkot experienced a chilly night as the minimum temperature dropped to 10.7°C, around 2.3°C below normal, reflecting cold conditions across the Saurashtra region. Surat, however, remained relatively warmer compared to other cities, recording a minimum temperature of 15.1°C, marginally below normal. The overall dip in minimum temperatures indicates the continued influence of cool northerly winds across the state.

The Kutch and Saurashtra regions witnessed the sharpest fall in mercury. Naliya in Kutch emerged as the coldest location in the state, recording a minimum temperature of 7°C, which is 3.4°C below normal. Other parts of the region also experienced cold conditions, with Bhuj registering 11°C and Dwarka 14.3°C, both below seasonal averages. Porbandar recorded 11.4°C (–2.9°C), while Amreli and Bhavnagar reported minimum temperatures of 12°C and 13.6°C respectively, indicating continued cold night conditions across the region.

Among other places, Deesa recorded a minimum temperature of 10.5°C, while Gandhinagar registered 12.5°C, both below or near normal levels. Coastal areas remained relatively warmer, with the Union Territory of Diu recording 15°C, and Okha registering 17.8°C. No rainfall was reported across the state during the past 24 hours. DeshGujarat
