Junagadh: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat on Monday arrested a Taluka Development Officer (TDO) in Mendarda after he was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000 at the Taluka Panchayat Office.
According to the ACB, the complainant approached the bureau after the accused, Tushar Vitthalbhai Raddiya, TDO (Class-2), allegedly demanded illegal gratification for issuing work orders related to ATVT works in the complainant’s village. The officer reportedly demanded a total bribe of Rs 1.65 lakh for clearing pending work orders as well as for previous works. It was decided that half of the amount would be paid initially.
Following the complaint, the ACB laid a trap. During the operation, Raddiya allegedly accepted Rs 80,000 in cash from the complainant, after which the ACB team caught him red-handed and recovered the entire amount from his possession.
