Income, caste certificates among 18 to go online from April 1 in Gujarat
February 05, 2026
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government on Wednesday took a key decision during a cabinet meeting, announcing that 18 essential certificates, including income and caste certificates, will be made available online from April 1, providing direct relief to nearly 80 lakh people across the state.
Addressing the media after the meeting, government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani said that students and parents require multiple certificates at the start of every academic year, for which they earlier had to queue up at government offices and struggle with deadlines amid admission pressures.
To resolve this issue, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that the entire process is made online and faceless, eliminating the need for citizens to visit government offices repeatedly. As a result, around 70 to 80 lakh families will benefit directly. From April 1, certificates and documents linked to various government schemes will be available online. DeshGujarat
