Ahmedabad: Sanand Police on Wednesday night raided a high-profile liquor and hookah party at Nirvana Greens, a weekend home located on Sanand–Nalsarovar Road, detaining 81 people, including 43 men and 38 women.
The gathering was allegedly organised to celebrate the 25th wedding anniversary of one Adarsh Agarwal, with a large number of guests, reportedly including builders, traders, and doctors from Ahmedabad, in attendance.
According to police, cake, hookah, and liquor were arranged across 11 tables at the private venue. Acting on a tip-off, officers conducted a late-night raid that led to the seizure of liquor, hookah materials, and more than 20 luxury vehicles, including BMW and Audi cars. The total value of the seized items is estimated at around ₹2.91 crore.
All detainees were taken to Sanand Police Station and later shifted to the government hospital for medical examination. The medical examination of the detainees is underway, along with background verification. Most of the accused are reportedly under the age of 40 years. Police said the action highlights growing instances of private liquor-hookah parties in the Sanand area and reiterated a zero-tolerance approach toward such violations. Further investigation in the case is underway. DeshGujarat
