Fire breaks out at Shivalik Highstreet near ITC Narmada in Ahmedabad; 100 rescued

Ahmedabad: A fire broke out on the fourth floor of the Shivalik Highstreet building near ITC Narmada Hotel on Judges Bungalow Road in the city, triggering panic among occupants. Around 10 fire brigade vehicles rushed to the spot and carried out a rescue operation, safely evacuating nearly 100 people from the building.

According to officials, the incident was reported at 2:36 pm on February 12, 2026, at Shivalik High Street in the Bodakdev area of Ahmedabad. The blaze erupted in real estate office No. 406 on the fourth floor, where office furniture caught fire, leading to heavy smoke in the premises.

Fire department teams reached the site immediately after receiving the alert. As smoke spread further, firefighters used forced ventilation to clear the trapped smoke. The fire was completely brought under control after an operation lasting about an hour.

A total of 16 fire vehicles were deployed, including three 20-KL water bowsers, one mini fighter, two emergency tenders, six first responders (Bolero), three first responders (Scorpio) and one hydraulic platform.

In all, 72 fire personnel took part in the operation, including 35 firemen, three jamadars, 16 drivers, one sub-officer, two station officers, two divisional officers, one deputy CFO, two additional CFOs and one CFO.

Nearly 100 people were safely evacuated by the fire department. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Officials added that the building’s fire safety system was functional, which helped contain the blaze quickly and avert a major tragedy. DeshGujarat
