Changes Announced in Surat BRTS Routes as Dabholi–Jahangirpura Bridge Repairs Begin

Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has undertaken repair work on the river bridge connecting Dabholi and Jahangirpura across the Tapi River to ensure public safety and the smooth movement of traffic. Due to repairs to the wearing course on both sides of the bridge, the Jahangirpura-to-Dabholi stretch will remain closed to all vehicular traffic from 11 February 2026 to 30 April 2026 (78 days).
In view of this work, the following changes have been implemented in key BRTS routes operated by Citylink, the public transport service of SMC, effective 13 February 2026:
Major Changes in BRTS Routes

Route No. 13 (Jahangirpura–Kadodara):
The route will now operate only between Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Bridge and Kadodara. -
Route No. 14 (ONGC–Kosad):
Special arrangements have been made for passengers:-
14 O: Buses will run from ONGC to Jahangirpura.

14 K: Service will operate from Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Bridge to Kosad.

Special Shuttle Service (14 AC):
For passenger convenience, a special anti-clockwise loop bus service has been introduced from Jahangirpura, operating via Chandrashekhar Azad Bridge, Katargam Bridge, Gajera, and Dabholi Bridge, before returning to Jahangirpura.
Passenger Advisory
The Surat Municipal Corporation stated that all routes will be restored to normal once the bridge repair work is completed. Currently, the city’s public transport network serves over two lakh passengers daily, with 367 buses operating on the 108-km BRTS corridor and 387 buses running on 45 city bus routes.
