Ahmedabad/Vadodara: Disruption gripped several schools across Gujarat on Monday after another row of hoax bomb threat emails were sent from overseas based Khalistani terrorists to multiple educational institutions in Ahmedabad and Vadodara, prompting evacuations and large-scale security checks.
According to preliminary information, over 30 schools, 15 in Ahmedabad and 16 in Vadodara, received threatening emails claiming that bombs had been planted on the premises. Authorities immediately swung into action after school administrations alerted police.
In Vadodara, the targeted institutions included D.R. Amin (Vasna Road), Urmi (Sama-Savli), Nalanda (Waghodia Road), Baroda High School (Bagikhana), Navyug (Sama), Jeevan Sadhana (Nagarwada), AWS (Dabhoi), Shannen (Khodiyarnagar), GPS School (Waghodia), Bright Day School (Vasna), Atmiya Vidyalaya, Don Bosco, Billabong, Auxilium, Zenith School (Pratapnagar) and American School (Kapurai). Students were sent home as a precaution, and the hostel of Urmi School was also evacuated. Police teams, bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) and dog squad rushed to the campuses and began thorough searches.
Similarly, in Ahmedabad, a similar bomb threat has been reported at 15 schools and one university, causing concern among parents and officials. The institutions include DAV International School (Makarba), Asia School (Vastrapur), A One School (Satellite), Ankur International School (Krishnanagar), St. Kabir (Navrangpura), Silver Bell School (Bapunagar), Tulip International School (Bopal), SGVP Gurukul School, A.G. High School (Navrangpura), J.G. International School, Diwan Ballubhai, C.N. Vidyalaya, Vijaynagar School, Khalsa Little School (Bapunagar), Jiviba School (Ghodasar), as well as Nirma University, which has also received a bomb threat. All campuses were cleared and checked by security agencies.
Officials said the threatening messages warned of blowing up the schools, triggering alarm among parents and staff. Intensive checking operations were launched in every affected institution, while senior police officers monitored the situation.
No suspicious objects had been found at the time of reporting, and authorities suspect the possibility of a hoax, though investigations are underway to trace the origin of the emails.
The incident comes weeks after similar threat emails were sent to multiple schools in Ahmedabad ahead of Republic Day, indicating a continuing pattern of email-based scare attempts targeting educational institutions in the state. DeshGujarat
