Minimum temperatures dip across Gujarat after warmer past few days

Ahmedabad: Several parts of Gujarat have witnessed a noticeable drop in minimum temperatures since last week, which was relatively warmer, bringing cooler early-morning conditions in mid-February, according to the latest weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department this morning.
Naliya, as usual, recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 11.0°C, which is 2.1 degrees below normal, indicating sharper night-time cooling in the Kutch region. Other relatively low minimum temperatures were reported in Amreli (14.2°C, 0.9°C below normal) and Porbandar (14.7°C, 1.7°C below normal).
Ahmedabad registered a minimum temperature of 16.0°C (0.8°C above normal), while Gandhinagar recorded 15.8°C (0.7°C above normal). Vadodara remained comparatively warmer at night with 17.0°C, 1.3°C above normal.
Saurashtra and coastal regions showed mixed trends. Rajkot reported 17.3°C (1.5°C above normal), Bhavnagar 17.2°C (0.6°C above normal), and Veraval 18.5°C (1.1°C above normal), while Okha (18.8°C) and Dwarka (18.4°C) continued to experience milder nights due to maritime influence.
In south Gujarat, Surat recorded a minimum of 17.8°C, close to normal conditions, while Daman reported 18.0°C.
Despite the dip in night temperatures at a few locations, maximum temperatures across most cities remained above normal, with Deesa (35.8°C), Rajkot (35.3°C), and Kandla (35.2°C) among the warmer stations. No rainfall was reported anywhere in the state.
