Ahmedabad Airport T1 Arrival Area Expanded
February 17, 2026
Ahmedabad: The domestic terminal at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in the city has expanded its arrivals exit area by adding three new traffic lanes, taking the total to nine to ease congestion during passenger pick-ups at Terminal 1 (T1).
As per a TOI report, the T1 arrivals forecourt was reconfigured to improve vehicular movement. Of the new lanes, one is within the parking circulation zone, while two are meant to better manage taxis and private vehicles, including a dedicated cab lane to reduce criss-cross traffic during peak hours.
Around 14,000 vehicles enter and exit the airport daily, with nearly 60% of the traffic concentrated at the domestic terminal. The earlier six-lane setup often led to delays and queues spilling onto the approach road, especially during peak travel periods. The additional lanes are expected to streamline queues and cut waiting times. DeshGujarat
