₹150 Crore Floating Solar Power Project Proposed for Kadana Dam in Gujarat Budget
February 18, 2026
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has announced plans to develop an innovative floating solar power project at Kadana Dam to maximise the use of water surfaces across reservoirs and canals in the state.
State Finance Minister Kanu Desai, presenting the Budget for FY 2026–27, said a provision of ₹150 crore has been made for the project. The initiative is expected to strengthen renewable energy generation while optimising unused water bodies for sustainable power production.
Officials believe the floating solar project will contribute to Gujarat’s clean energy capacity and support the state’s broader push toward environmentally responsible infrastructure. DeshGujarat
