Above-normal temperatures persist across Gujarat; mercury touches 34.2°C in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Day and night temperatures across Gujarat remained above normal in most cities on February 18, as per the Indian Meteorological Department.
In major urban centres, Ahmedabad recorded 34.2°C, notably above normal, while Vadodara reported 33.0°C with a higher-than-usual night temperature of 19.4°C. Rajkot registered 33.5°C, continuing the trend of warm daytime conditions, whereas Surat recorded a comparatively moderate 32.2°C with a near-normal minimum temperature. All four cities reported dry weather conditions.
Elsewhere in the state, Deesa (34.3°C) recorded the highest maximum temperature, followed by Kandla and Gandhinagar, where temperatures also remained above seasonal averages. Coastal locations stayed relatively cooler, with Okha at 26.8°C, Diu at 27.8°C, and Dwarka and Veraval at 28.2°C each.
Minimum temperatures were above normal across several inland areas, while cooler nights prevailed in Diu, Porbandar and Naliya. Morning humidity remained high in coastal and southern regions—peaking at 96% in Daman and 95% in Dang—with elevated evening humidity in Dwarka and Veraval. No rainfall was recorded at any monitoring station across Gujarat.
Overall, Gujarat continues to experience warm, dry weather with above-normal daytime temperatures, while coastal belts maintain comparatively moderate conditions and higher humidity. DeshGujarat
