Ahmedabad: Gujarat is witnessing the withdrawal of winter across the state, with temperatures staying above normal during both daytime and nighttime, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) this morning.
In Ahmedabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.4°C, which was 0.9°C below normal, while the minimum settled at 20.3°C, 4.7°C above normal.
Surat recorded a warmer day with a maximum of 34.8°C, 1.5°C above normal, and a minimum of 20.5°C, 2.4°C above normal. Humidity levels remained high at 84 per cent in the morning and 60 per cent in the evening.
In Vadodara, the maximum temperature was 31.8°C, 1.4°C below normal, while the minimum was 19.8°C, 3.4°C above normal, with morning humidity at 72 per cent and evening humidity at 46 per cent.
Rajkot experienced hotter conditions, with the maximum rising to 35.3°C, 2.6°C above normal, and the minimum at 19.8°C, 3.5°C above normal. Humidity was recorded at 71 per cent in the morning and 30 per cent in the evening.
Elsewhere in the state, Porbandar and Veraval recorded maximum temperatures of 35.2°C and 35.1°C respectively, both significantly above normal, while Bhuj touched 33.8°C, 1.9°C above normal.
Deesa and Naliya also reported above-normal day temperatures at 34.2°C and 34.0°C respectively. Coastal areas such as Dwarka saw a sharp departure of 5.2°C above normal, with a maximum of 32.6°C.
