Gujarat Earns Rs 6,181 Crore in Oil and Gas Royalty in Two Years: Govt

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has earned a total of ₹6,181.364 crore in royalty from crude oil and natural gas production during the financial years 2024–25 and 2025–26 (up to December 31, 2025), the State Assembly was informed on Monday.
The Minister of Energy and Petrochemicals provided details regarding production levels and royalty earnings as of December 31, 2025, in response to a question.
According to official figures, the state recorded substantial output in the energy sector. For the financial year 2024–25, crude oil production stood at 52,83,170 metric tons, while natural gas production reached 74,25,65,338 standard cubic meters.
For the financial year 2025–26 (up to December 31, 2025), crude oil production was recorded at 39,70,837 metric tons, and natural gas production stood at 53,18,05,907 standard cubic meters.
Revenue and Royalties
The sale of these resources has significantly strengthened the state’s treasury through royalty payments.
In 2024–25, the state government earned ₹3,429.83 crore in royalties from crude oil and ₹231.429 crore from natural gas.
During the current financial year 2025–26 (up to December 31, 2025), royalty collections amounted to ₹2,349.528 crore from crude oil and ₹170.577 crore from natural gas.
