Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved works worth ₹302.40 crore for the construction of two new bridges. The move aims to ensure smooth connectivity to district and taluka headquarters for more than 18,000 residents of around 11 villages in the tribal region of Narmada district.

Accordingly, ₹123.13 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a bridge from Rengan Ghat to Rampura Ghat, while ₹179.27 crore has been approved for a bridge connecting Shaherav Ghat to Tilakwada Ghat.

With the construction of these two bridges, residents of villages including Tilakwada, Vasan, Rengan, Rampura, Mangrol and Shaherav, located in the northern and southern parts of the district, will benefit from improved transportation facilities. Students commuting to schools and colleges from these areas will also gain reliable road connectivity, particularly during the monsoon season.

Additionally, lakhs of pilgrims participate every year in the annual Uttarvahini Parikrama held during the month of Chaitra in Nandod and Tilakwada talukas. Once completed, the two bridges are expected to reduce the travel distance by a total of 17 kilometres, leading to significant savings in time and fuel. DeshGujarat
