Ahmedabad DEO Issues Notice to Vedant Public School Over Misleading Merger Claim
February 25, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad City District Education Officer (DEO) has issued a show-cause notice to a school in Isanpur for allegedly misleading parents about a proposed merger.
Vedant Public School had applied to merge with Vedant Vidya Vihar School from the 2026–27 academic year, but the DEO clarified that no approval was granted. Despite this, the school reportedly informed parents that the merger would proceed, triggering confusion and complaints.
Following objections from parents and media reports, the DEO directed the school to immediately clarify that no merger permission was given and that it will continue functioning as usual. The management has been asked to appear before authorities with an explanation, failing which further action may be taken. The merger proposal has been formally rejected. DeshGujarat
