Arkel India Opens ₹100-Crore Lift Control Manufacturing Facility in Vadodara
February 26, 2026
Vadodara: Arkel India has announced the opening of a new manufacturing facility with an investment of about ₹100 crore in Phase 1 at the GIDC Estate in Savli-Manjusar, Vadodara. The advanced, technology-driven unit will focus on locally manufacturing high-quality lift electronic systems, thereby reducing import dependency, the company said.
A key benefit of local manufacturing is the production of electronic systems fully compliant with the new IS 17900 standard. With this, Arkel claims to be the only local “Made in India” electronics supplier meeting the new lift standards.
The new plant also marks Arkel India’s entry into the manufacturing of advanced lift electronic systems. Until now, the company had been primarily marketing these systems.
The facility will house automated PCB assembly lines along with semi-automatic MR control panel lines. It will manufacture integrated lift control systems, including MR, MRL, and slim panels.
These solutions incorporate IoT-enabled smart technologies, offering energy efficiency, durability, and precision control. They are designed to meet the requirements of high-rise residential, commercial, healthcare, retail, transit hubs, and infrastructure projects.
According to the company, products from the facility will support infrastructure and real estate growth in India, contributing to national projects such as airports, railway stations, urban redevelopment initiatives, and smart cities. They will also enhance reliable vertical mobility in high-rise housing, commercial complexes, and public buildings.
The facility is expected to generate both direct and indirect employment. The company plans to collaborate with ITIs, polytechnics, and engineering institutes to provide apprenticeship and upskilling opportunities in electronics and automation.
“India is one of the fastest-growing elevator markets in the world, with annual demand exceeding 1,00,000 units, driven by rapid urbanisation, Smart Cities initiatives, AMRUT projects, housing developments under PMAY, and major infrastructure expansion across metros, airports, and railway redevelopment programmes,” said Vadiraj Katti, Managing Director, Arkel Electronic India Pvt. Ltd., highlighting the ₹100 crore Phase 1 investment.
The new plant reflects a global-local synergy and is expected to strengthen India’s position as a manufacturing and export hub for Asia-Pacific markets. “The establishment of Arkel India’s manufacturing unit marks a strategic milestone in strengthening Innovalift’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region and reinforces Arkel’s long-term commitment to India as a manufacturing and innovation hub,” said Andrea Veggian, CEO of Innovalift AB, Sweden, whose company acquired Türkiye-based Arkel in January 2025.
Spread across 1,35,000 sq ft, the facility will have the capacity to manufacture approximately 36,000 units annually in a single shift. The electronic manufacturing setup features fully controlled temperature, humidity, cleanliness, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) management systems.
“The facility represents modern, precision-driven manufacturing excellence, built to meet global quality standards as well as local requirements, while proudly contributing to India’s industrial growth story,” said Metin Cenk Ceylan, Global CEO, Arkel Elektrik Elektronik. DeshGujarat
