Marginal Dip in Day Temperatures Across Gujarat; Coastal Areas Cooler Than Normal

Ahmedabad: Several parts of Gujarat witnessed a marginal dip in maximum temperatures, while minimum temperatures remained above normal in many cities, according to the weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department this morning.
In Ahmedabad, the maximum temperature settled at 34.7°C, which was 1.6°C above normal, while the minimum stood at 19.1°C, 2.6°C higher than usual. Gandhinagar recorded similar conditions, with a maximum of 34.2°C (1°C above normal) and a minimum of 18.5°C (2.9°C above normal).
However, parts of the coastal belt reported below-normal maximum temperatures, indicating a mild cooling trend during the day. Porbandar recorded a high of 29.5°C, which was 3°C below normal, while Diu (Union Territory) and Veraval reported maximum temperatures of 28.5°C and 29.2°C, respectively, both 2°C below normal. Surat also registered a below-normal maximum of 31.6°C, 2°C lower than average.
In Saurashtra and Kutch, Rajkot recorded a maximum of 34.4°C (1°C above normal), while Bhuj touched 35.0°C, 2°C above normal. Naliya, however, recorded a relatively cooler daytime temperature of 30.0°C, 2°C below normal.
Minimum temperatures across the state largely remained above seasonal averages. Deesa recorded a minimum of 18.9°C, which was 4.1°C above normal — among the highest departures in the state. Baroda (20.2°C, +3.1°C) and Dwarka (23.2°C, +3.3°C) also reported warmer-than-usual nights.
Relative humidity levels in the morning remained high in coastal and Kutch regions, with Kandla reporting 89% humidity and Bhuj 86%. No rainfall was recorded at any station across Gujarat during the past 24 hours.
Overall, while interior regions continued to experience slightly above-normal temperatures, coastal districts saw a modest fall in daytime temperatures, bringing relatively milder conditions. DeshGujrat
