PM Modi to Visit Sanand; Major Traffic Diversions Announced for February 28

Ahmedabad: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Sanand GIDC area on February 28, 2025, the Additional District Magistrate of Ahmedabad has issued a notification announcing significant traffic restrictions and diversions.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to attend a corporate event at Micron, followed by a public roadshow.
Traffic Restrictions
To ensure security and smooth movement during the high-profile visit, several key road stretches will remain closed to the general public from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 28.
Restricted Stretch
Vehicular movement will remain restricted on the following route:
Veliyo Circle – Helipad Trijunction – Voltas Beko–Highlex Trijunction – Charal Trijunction
Commuters are advised to avoid this stretch and use the designated alternative routes.
Alternative Routes
Route 1:
From Veliyo Circle, vehicles may proceed via Tabela Crossroads towards Oxygen Park, then through Meldi Mata Chowkdi. From there, take a left turn towards Posco Company, pass via Coca-Cola Company, and then take a right turn towards Rupavati village.
Route 2:
From Charal EV Charging Station Trijunction, proceed towards Sekhani Company Crossroads, then move ahead to Sanand GIDC Office Crossroads, and further towards Sanand GIDC Gate No. 2.
Legal Enforcement and Compliance
The order has been issued under Section 33(1)(b) of the Gujarat Police Act, 1951. Authorities have cautioned that any individual violating these traffic regulations will face prosecution under Section 131 of the Gujarat Police Act and Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
Local police officials and sub-divisional magistrates across Ahmedabad have been directed to ensure strict implementation of these measures and to disseminate the information through local media and public announcements.
