Surat: In yet another rash driving incident, a speeding car lost control and overturned after crashing into a divider in the upscale Piplod area of the city. Two occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries in the incident.

According to initial information, the driver allegedly lost control of the steering wheel while driving at high speed. The car mounted the divider and rammed into a tree before overturning onto the road. The impact was so severe that the tree planted on the divider was uprooted from its base.

The accident, reportedly captured on nearby CCTV cameras, could have resulted in a major tragedy but was narrowly avoided. Local residents and passing motorists rushed to the spot after hearing the loud crash and assisted the injured.

A young man and a woman were travelling in the car at the time of the accident. While both sustained injuries, the woman suffered more serious injuries and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the timely deployment of airbags is believed to have saved their lives.

Following the accident, traffic congestion was reported on Dumas Road for some time. The Umra police promptly reached the scene, cleared the overturned vehicle using a crane, and restored traffic movement. Police are currently examining CCTV footage to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. DeshGujarat
