Hotel Shortage? Gujarat Govt’s 60-Day Smart Solution at Semicon 2026
March 01, 2026
Gandhinagar: Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Saturday reaffirmed the Gujarat government’s unwavering commitment to supporting semiconductor investors at Semicon 2026 held in Gandhinagar. Addressing industry leaders, global investors, and technology experts, he emphasized that the state government stands firmly beside businesses to help transform their visions into reality.
Speaking at the event, Sanghavi said Gujarat does not merely invite investment but builds long-term partnerships. “The government is committed to standing firmly beside you to help realize your dreams, offering support even in the smallest of matters,” he stated.
Highlighting Gujarat’s growing semiconductor ecosystem, he pointed to the presence of major industrial players such as Tata Group and Micron, along with several other semiconductor companies, as evidence of the state’s collaborative and investor-friendly environment.
As a practical example of the government’s responsiveness, Sanghavi referred to concerns raised by participants regarding hotel accommodation shortages in the region. In response, the government proposed setting up five-star facility tents on nearby state government land within 60 days.
This interim solution, he explained, would act as a bridge until permanent hotel infrastructure projects—expected to provide thousands of rooms—are completed within the next year.
The move reflects what Sanghavi described as the government’s proactive and solution-oriented approach. “We do not operate with superiority or ego. Every problem is treated as an opportunity to learn and deliver better outcomes,” he said.
Sanghavi underlined that despite Gujarat being recognized as one of India’s fastest-growing states, the administration continues to actively listen to investors. He noted that the government learns from industry feedback regularly and converts challenges into strengths by improving infrastructure and policy frameworks.
“Our administration does not believe that growth means we stop listening. We learn something new from investors every morning and work to turn complaints into strengths,” he added.
Semicon 2026 witnessed participation from key stakeholders across the semiconductor value chain, further strengthening Gujarat’s position as an emerging hub for chip manufacturing and electronics innovation in India.
With strong policy backing, infrastructure development, and industry collaboration, Gujarat continues to push forward in its mission to become a leading semiconductor destination.
