March 10, 2026
Mehsana: Frozen food manufacturer HyFun Foods will invest about ₹900 crore to set up a new manufacturing unit in north Gujarat to expand its capacity for French fries and potato-based products. The plant is expected to become operational by November–December 2026, according to a BusinessLine report.
Managing Director and Group CEO Haresh Karamchandani said the new facility will more than double the company’s capacity. At present, HyFun produces 1,10,000 tonnes of French fries and 15,000 tonnes of potato specialties annually. The new unit will add 1,35,000 tonnes of French fries and 25,000 tonnes of potato specialties, taking total capacity to 2,45,000 tonnes and 40,000 tonnes, respectively.
This will be the company’s sixth manufacturing unit and will add to its existing cluster in Mehsana district. With the expansion, overall potato processing capacity will increase from 3,50,000 tonnes to about 7,00,000 tonnes, Karamchandani said.
HyFun reported revenue of around ₹1,350 crore in FY25 and expects it to reach ₹1,500 crore this year, with nearly 70% coming from exports. The company is also planning an IPO in 2028–29 to fund future growth. DeshGujarat
