Stone-pelting between two groups in Ranip, six rounded up

Ahmedabad: A clash broke out between two groups of the same community in Balolnagar area of Ranip on Monday night (March 9), during which stone-pelting took place between the two sides. Police reached the spot after receiving information and detained six persons in connection with the incident.
According to police, the incident occurred in Vishwakarma Society in Balolnagar, where two families belonging to the Dantani community got into an argument late at night. The dispute reportedly started after some outsiders came to the house of one family in the society, which was opposed by another family living nearby. The argument soon escalated into a fight between the two sides.
The situation turned tense when members of both families started throwing stones at each other near the society gate. Women from the families were also involved in the altercation, police said.
After receiving information, several vehicles of Ranip police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Some persons were detained and taken to Ranip Police Station for questioning.
PI Ketan Vyas of Ranip Police Station said that the clash took place between members of the same community and involved stone-pelting, but no injuries were reported. Six persons have been rounded up, and the probe is underway. DeshGujarat
