Gandhinagar: The political atmosphere in Gujarat is heating up ahead of the upcoming local body elections, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit his home state once again at the end of March.
It is learnt that the Prime Minister is likely to visit the newly formed Vav-Tharad district, where he may address a massive public gathering on March 31. According to reports, planning for the Prime Minister’s one-day visit is currently in the final stage. This will be the Prime Minister’s first visit to the newly formed district, and there is considerable enthusiasm among party workers as well as the local public.
During his visit to Gujarat, the Prime Minister is also expected to travel to Gandhinagar on the occasion of Mahavir Janm Kalyanak, where he is likely to inaugurate a special museum dedicated to the Jain community. As per the reports, the museum showcases the life events and spiritual journey of Jain Acharya Padma Sagar Surishwar Maharaj, including documents and memorabilia related to his padavihara (spiritual travels).
Padma Sagar Surishwar Maharaj is believed to have undertaken a pilgrimage of nearly 2.5 lakh kilometres on foot during his lifetime, which holds great significance in Jain tradition. The museum houses manuscripts, inscriptions, statues, brass artefacts, and paintings depicting religious stories and spiritual themes, and aims to give visitors a deeper understanding of Jain traditions, penance practices, and spiritual heritage. Preparations have already begun in Gandhinagar in view of the Prime Minister’s expected visit.
The Prime Minister’s visit ahead of the local body elections is expected to give momentum to the BJP’s campaign in North Gujarat and surrounding regions. During the visit, he is also likely to inaugurate or lay the foundation stone for several development projects.
It is noteworthy that just yesterday, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. DeshGujarat
