Ahmedabad: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Gujarat today announced its new office bearers for the year 2026–27, with Achal Bakeri, Chairman & Managing Director, Symphony Ltd, taking over as Chairman, CII Gujarat State Council, and Naresh Patel, Executive Chairman & Managing Director, Acutaas Chemicals Ltd, assuming charge as Vice Chairman.

The announcement was made during the CII Gujarat Annual Meeting 2026, marking a key leadership transition at a crucial stage in the state’s economic growth journey. The theme for the newly constituted State Council for 2026–27 has been declared as “Virasat Se Vikas: Gujarat @ 2047.”

The Annual Meeting was held on the theme “Gujarat @ $1 Trillion Economy by 2030 – From Industrial Power to Global Economic Hub.”

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that Gujarat is on track to become a $1 trillion economy by 2030, following the development vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He assured that the state government will extend full support to industry to achieve this target.

Citing the example of Micron Technology, the Chief Minister said global confidence in India’s leadership has brought advanced industries such as semiconductors to Gujarat, turning once-impossible goals into reality.

He noted that although Gujarat has only about 5% of India’s population, it contributes nearly 8% to the national GDP, with a target to cross 10%.

The Chief Minister described Gujarat as a policy-driven state, stating that transparent and industry-friendly policies have been key to sustained growth. He added that the state has already prepared and begun implementing a roadmap for Viksit Bharat 2047.

A panel discussion on “Gujarat’s Potential as a Global Capability Centre (GCC) Hub” highlighted the state’s readiness to become a major destination for GCC investments. Experts noted that strong policy alignment, skilled manpower, and robust social infrastructure make Gujarat highly competitive.

Another panel on “Sustainable Exports: Aligning Growth with Global Standards” discussed the impact of ESG norms, green compliance, and supply-chain transparency on export competitiveness. Industry leaders emphasised that sustainability is no longer optional and must be integrated into long-term business strategy. DeshGujarat
