March 20, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Income Tax Department on Friday launched a major search operation in the city, conducting raids at around 20 locations linked to chemical manufacturing firm Mayur Dychem. The action began early in the morning and is being carried out at multiple premises linked to the company across Ahmedabad.
It is learnt that the searches are being conducted in connection with alleged tax evasion and suspected benami transactions linked to Mayur Dychem, a company operating from Vatva GIDC. The investigation is focused on the firm’s partners, Mayur Patel and Sujal Patel, and premises associated with them.
Income Tax teams carried out simultaneous searches at the company’s office and factory in Vatva, as well as at several residential properties, including locations in the Sola area. Officials are also examining financial records, bank accounts, lockers, and digital documents as part of the operation, according to reports.
During the searches, several luxury vehicles were seen parked at a bungalow named Aashirwad, reportedly linked to one of the partners.
Sources said the raids may lead to the detection of undisclosed income, benami investments, cash, jewellery, and property-related documents. However, the Income Tax Department has not yet issued an official statement on the outcome of the searches. DeshGujarat
