Stray Cattle Menace Claims Life of Retired Teacher in Kadi

Mehsana: In yet another death due to the stray cattle menace, a retired school teacher lost his life in Kadi town after being attacked by stray cattle today. The deceased, Razak Ghanchi, succumbed to serious injuries during treatment after the incident near Keshavnagar Gate.

According to details, Ghanchi, who had earlier served as a teacher at School No. 1 in Kadi, was returning home after offering Eid prayers at the Eidgah when a herd of stray cows knocked him down on the road. The animals allegedly attacked him with their horns, causing severe injuries to his head and other parts of the body. He was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition but died after a short treatment.

The incident has created anger among residents and once again highlighted the serious stray cattle problem in Kadi city, with locals blaming the municipal administration for failing to control the menace.

Locals allege that negligence by the municipality and government officials has resulted in repeated accidents and loss of innocent lives. They demanded that stray cattle be immediately seized and that strict action be taken against owners who leave animals on the roads.

Family members of the deceased also questioned the administration’s functioning. The victim’s brother, Fakir Mohammad Ghanchi, said that despite clear directions from the High Court to control stray cattle, the orders are not being implemented at the local level. The family has demanded that a criminal case be registered against the cattle owners responsible for letting the animals roam freely on public roads. DeshGujarat
