Temperature Likely to Rise by 2–3°C in Gujarat, Says IMD; Ahmedabad Records 36°C

Ahmedabad: The city recorded a maximum temperature of 36°C on Sunday, which was 1.2°C below normal, though higher than Saturday’s 34.2°C. The minimum temperature also rose last night and settled at 23.6°C, recording an increase of 2.5°C over the seasonal average.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), both maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain in a similar range over the next few days. Two weather systems, an upper air cyclonic circulation over west Rajasthan observed in the morning and a Western Disturbance in the form of a trough, continued to influence the state’s weather conditions.
The IMD has forecast a gradual rise of 2–3°C in maximum temperatures over the next 48 hours, after which the temperatures are likely to stabilise. The minimum temperature is also expected to increase by around 2°C.
As per the weather report issued at 08:30 am today, across Gujarat, the highest maximum temperature of 36.5°C was recorded in Rajkot, followed by 35.8°C in Baroda, 35.7°C in Bhuj, 35.5°C in Surat and Kandla, 35.4°C in Gandhinagar, and 36°C in Ahmedabad.
Coastal areas remained relatively cooler, with Dwarka recording 28.6°C and Okha 30.8°C as the maximum temperature. No rainfall was reported from any station in the state. DeshGujarat
