ONGC Starts Gas Monetisation from Daman Offshore Project, Sends Output to Hazira
March 30, 2026
Daman: State-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has achieved a key milestone in its offshore Daman Upside Development Project (DUDP), with the commencement of gas monetisation from one of its platforms in the Arabian Sea.
The project, located around 180 km northwest of Mumbai and about 80 km south of Pipavav on the Gujarat coast, began gas flow from Platform B-12-24P on March 29, 2026. The platform has been successfully commissioned, and gas is now being transported to ONGC’s Hazira plant for processing.
With a capital expenditure of approximately USD 1 billion, the DUDP has been executed in under two years from the date of award.
ONGC credited the accelerated timeline to robust project management and the innovative use of a drill-deck approach. The drilling and production teams played a key role in timely commissioning, reflecting improved coordination and operational efficiency, company secretary Shashi Bhushan Singh said.
The milestone marks the start of phased gas production from the project, with output from additional wells expected to be ramped up gradually in the coming period. DeshGujarat
