Vidharmi Boys Harassed, Hit Me on Highway: Hindu Girl on Valsad – Pavagadh Padyatra Alleges
March 25, 2026
Pavagadh: A Hindu girl who started a foot pilgrimage (padyatra) from Valsad in South Gujarat to Pavagadh Hill, which houses the Mahakali Mandir, has alleged that she was harassed by some boys from the minority community just a few kilometres before reaching the temple.
Denisha Vasan, whose journey began from Valsad on March 9, had been sharing glimpses of her padyatra daily on her Instagram account. However, two days ago, she shared a shocking incident in which she stated that some boys from a minority community harassed her and even hit her while she was on her way to the temple.
In the video, Denisha said, “Guys, I was walking towards Pavagadh, which is about 6 km from here. Some Vidharmi boys were driving very fast back and forth and were troubling me. One of them even hit me hard and then left. They may find it funny, but this is not right when someone is travelling like this. Even if you cannot help someone, that’s fine, but at least don’t hit anyone like this.”
The video has now gone viral on Instagram, receiving over 67,000 likes and more than 2,500 comments. Despite the incident, the girl completed her padyatra and later shared that she had returned home safely.
However, the incident has raised concerns over the safety of pilgrims and travellers on the route, especially women. DeshGujarat
