Stray Dog Menace: Woman, Child Attacked by Rabid Dog in Rajkot Village

Rajkot: A suspected rabid dog has spread panic in Khirsara village of Jetpur taluka after attacking a woman and her young son, both of whom sustained serious injuries.
According to information, Asida Banu, a farm labourer working on the outskirts of Khirsara village, was in a field with her son when the incident occurred. The child was playing when the dog suddenly attacked him, biting him severely on the head.
Hearing her son’s cries, Asida Banu rushed to rescue him but was also attacked by the dog. She suffered serious injuries to her head and forehead during the incident.
Locals rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion and managed to rescue the injured. Both victims were immediately shifted to Jetpur Government Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
The incident has triggered fear among residents of Khirsara and nearby areas, as the dog is reportedly still at large. Villagers and farm workers have urged authorities to take immediate action to capture the animal and prevent further attacks. DeshGujarat
