Mumbai: The Heavy Engineering arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has dispatched another 700 MWe steam generator for the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL), marking a significant milestone in India’s fast-track nuclear programme, the infrastructure major announced on Wednesday.
Steam generators play a crucial role in pressurised heavy water reactors by converting water into steam, which drives turbines to generate electricity.
These high-end components are manufactured at L&T’s A.M. Naik Heavy Engineering Complex located in Hazira and Vadodara, Gujarat. The company confirmed that this marks the dispatch of its seventh 700 MWe steam generator to NPCIL.
According to L&T, the ahead-of-schedule delivery highlights its commitment to strengthening India’s energy infrastructure and aligns with Narendra Modi’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
L&T Heavy Engineering specialises in the manufacturing and supply of advanced reactors and critical process equipment for global clients across sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilisers, and nuclear power.
Larsen & Toubro, a USD 30 billion Indian multinational, operates across engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), high-tech manufacturing, and services in multiple international markets. DeshGujarat
