Prostitution Racket Busted in Decoy Trap at Spa in Gandhinagar; 4 Women Rescued

Gandhinagar: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) has busted a prostitution racket operating under the guise of a massage parlour at the Swagat Rain Forest-2 complex in the Kudasan area of Gandhinagar. Acting on a tip-off, police raided King The Luxury Hammam Spa and detained its operator, Jalpa Bhaveshbhai Makwana, a resident of Ahmedabad. Further investigation is underway.

The AHTU had received specific inputs that a prostitution network was being run from the spa located on the second floor of the Swagat Rain Forest-2 complex. Acting on this, the team deployed a decoy customer, who was given ₹500 notes with recorded serial numbers before being sent into the premises.

According to officials, the decoy customer entered the spa and sought both massage and sexual services, to which the operator allegedly agreed. Upon receiving a pre-arranged signal, the police team conducted a raid on the premises.

During the operation, one victim was found in a room, and the marked currency notes were recovered from the spot.

Further searches led to the rescue of three additional women from the staff room. Preliminary investigation revealed that the women hailed from different regions, including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Ahmedabad, and Mizoram.

Police said the victims stated that the operator, Jalpa Makwana, paid them a monthly amount in exchange for engaging in prostitution.

During the raid, police seized ₹5,000 in cash from the premises. A case has been registered against Makwana, and further legal action is being taken. DeshGujarat
