Traffic Block in Ahmedabad to Impact Mumbai – Gandhinagar Vande Bharat Express

Ahmedabad: Work on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train project is progressing at a rapid pace, with railway authorities announcing a traffic and power block on April 19 from noon. The block has been scheduled to facilitate the launching of a third precast portal beam near Maninagar station in the Geratpur–Ahmedabad section.

The block is expected to directly impact train operations, affecting several key services. Notably, the Mumbai–Gandhinagar Vande Bharat Express will be partially affected. On April 19, the train will operate only up to Vatva, while on its return journey it will depart from Ahmedabad (Kalupur) station.

Cancelled and Partially Cancelled Trains

Two MEMU services—Train No. 69102 Vatva–Vadodara and Train No. 69115 Vadodara–Vatva—will remain fully cancelled on April 19. Additionally, Train No. 22959 Vadodara–Jamnagar Intercity will be cancelled on April 18, while Train No. 22960 Jamnagar–Vadodara Intercity will remain cancelled on April 19.

Among partially cancelled services, Train No. 19033 Valsad–Ahmedabad Gujarat Queen Express will not operate between Vadodara and Ahmedabad on April 19.

Delayed Trains

Due to the block, several long-distance trains are expected to run behind schedule. Train No. 19484 Asansol–Ahmedabad Express and Train No. 12834 Howrah–Ahmedabad Express will be delayed by approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes between Vadodara and Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, Train No. 22718 Secunderabad–Rajkot Superfast Express is likely to be delayed by around 45 minutes.

Overall, at least five trains will be affected due to the block, causing inconvenience to passengers. Railway authorities have advised commuters to check train schedules in advance and plan their journeys accordingly. DeshGujarat
