33-Year-Old Man Dies After Collapsing into Resort Swimming Pool in Rajkot

Rajkot: A 33-year-old man died after collapsing and falling into a swimming pool at a resort near Kagwad village in Gondal taluka on Sunday, police said. The victim had visited the resort with his family to celebrate his son’s birthday and his wedding anniversary.
The deceased was identified as Ajay Bhanji Rathod, a resident of Navagam in Gondal who was engaged in an online marketing business. According to preliminary information, the incident occurred around 1 p.m. at Haven Resort when Rathod suddenly lost consciousness near the swimming pool and fell into the water.

People present at the spot immediately pulled him out and administered CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation). He was then rushed to Virpur Hospital in a 108 ambulance but died en route. Doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Rathod had arrived at the resort with his family around 11 a.m. His son’s birthday had been celebrated a day earlier, and the family had gathered again on Sunday to mark his wedding anniversary.
Family members include his parents, wife, younger brother, and nine-year-old son. The sudden death has cast a pall of gloom over his family and residents of Navagam.
The body has been shifted to Gondal Civil Hospital. A forensic postmortem will be conducted at Rajkot Civil Hospital to ascertain the exact cause of death. Further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
