Kandla Port Facilitates LNG Tank Dispatch for Bahamas Mini Terminal Project

Kandla: Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) has facilitated the shipment of cryogenic LNG storage tanks manufactured by INOX India Limited for a mini-LNG terminal project being developed in The Bahamas.

Sharing the development on social media platform X, the port authority said Kandla Port continues to strengthen its position in handling complex and high-value cargo consignments.

“Kandla Port is proud to be the gateway for yet another global milestone. The dispatch of LNG tanks by INOXCVA for the mini-LNG terminal project in The Bahamas reflects our commitment towards facilitating specialised cargo movement,” the authority stated.

DPA further said the project highlights its contribution towards supporting India’s growing role in global energy infrastructure and extended its best wishes to INOX India Limited and other stakeholders associated with the project.

Confirming the shipment, INOX India Limited said the dispatch marks a significant step in its international LNG infrastructure project.

The company thanked Deendayal Port Authority for supporting the movement of the first batch of 1,500 cubic metre LNG tanks from Kandla Port for the terminal project at Nassau in The Bahamas.

INOX India also stated that it remains focused on advancing the global energy transition through innovative cryogenic engineering solutions.

Earlier, the company had described the dispatch as a major milestone for the Bahamas LNG project, noting that it involves the world’s largest installation of shop-built, double-walled vacuum insulated LNG tanks.

According to the company, it is supplying 10 high-capacity LNG tanks along with a regasification system for island-based power generation requirements in The Bahamas.

INOX India also acknowledged the efforts of its team, stating that the milestone was achieved through dedicated planning, engineering precision, and coordinated execution.
