Kandla Port Facilitates LNG Tank Dispatch for Bahamas Mini-Terminal Project

Kandla: Deendayal Port Authority on Sunday announced that it has enabled the dispatch of cryogenic LNG tanks manufactured by INOX India Limited for a mini-LNG terminal project in The Bahamas.
In a post on X, the port authority said Kandla Port continues to serve as a gateway for significant global cargo movements. It highlighted that the shipment of LNG tanks by INOXCVA reflects its capability to handle complex and high-value cargo efficiently.
The authority further noted that the development reinforces its contribution to strengthening India’s position in the global energy infrastructure sector, while extending its best wishes to INOX India Limited and all stakeholders involved in the project.
Confirming the update, INOX India Limited stated that the shipment marks a key advancement in its international LNG project. The company expressed gratitude to Deendayal Port Authority for facilitating the dispatch of the first batch of 1,500 cubic metre tanks, calling it a significant step towards its Bahamas LNG terminal project.
INOX India also reiterated its commitment to supporting the global energy transition through advanced cryogenic engineering solutions.
Earlier, on April 16, the company had described the dispatch as a major milestone. It said the first batch of 1,500 cubic metre tanks was shipped from Kandla Port for the mini-LNG terminal being developed in Nassau, Bahamas.
The company added that the project involves the world’s largest installation of shop-built, double-walled vacuum-insulated tanks. It is supplying a total of 10 high-capacity tanks along with a regasification system aimed at supporting power generation in island regions. DeshGujarat
