Gujarat Civic Polls: Average Voter Turnout Around 20% in Municipal Corporations by 1 PM

Gandhinagar: By 1 PM, the average voter turnout stood at around 20% across 15 municipal corporations, 26% in 84 municipalities, 29% in 34 district panchayats, and 30% in 260 taluka panchayats.

In municipal corporations, voter turnout ranged from 14.39% to 33.72%. The highest turnout was recorded in Vapi, while Porbandar reported the lowest. Among the four major cities, Rajkot registered the highest turnout at 21.05%, followed by Surat at 19.43% and Vadodara at 18.48%. Ahmedabad recorded a voter turnout of 17.12%.

In municipalities, the voter turnout ranged from 50.78% to 22.25%, with the highest in Navsari and the lowest in Junagadh. The top 5 municipalities in terms of voter turnout as of 1 PM are Navsari, Vav-Tharad, Valsad, Jamnagar, and Vadodara. At the same time, the 5 municipalities where turnout is lowest are Junagadh, Dahod, Surendranagar, Tapi, and Patan.

For district panchayat polls, as of 1 PM, the voter turnout ranges from 39.87% to 23.31%. Among the district panchayats, the highest participation of voters is in Gir Somnath, while the lowest is in Bhavnagar.
