AAP Gujarat State General Secretary Sagar Rabari Resigns from Party

Ahmedabad: In a setback to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) just 24 hours before vote counting, State General Secretary Sagar Rabari resigned from all party posts today, triggering political ripples ahead of the results.

Rabari, who also served as the party’s state general secretary, announced his resignation through a Facebook post. His exit is being seen as significant given his strong connect with grassroots workers and the farming community across parts of Gujarat.

In his statement, Rabari said, “I finish my journey with the Aam Aadmi Party here today, freeing myself from party membership, position, and responsibilities. Heartfelt thanks to all colleagues for their cooperation. Personal relationships and friendships will remain intact.”

His resignation comes days after he publicly criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party, alleging that the ruling party was attempting to intimidate voters ahead of the local body elections. He had also claimed that the BJP’s actions, including alleged curbs on AAP workers’ social media accounts, reflected its “fear” of the party’s growing support base.

The AAP is yet to issue an official response to Rabari’s resignation. DeshGujarat
