Ahmedabad: GCMMF Chairman Ashok Chaudhary has been appointed as a Director of Sardar Patel Cooperative Dairy Federation Limited (SPCDF) by the Union Ministry of Cooperation.

The 14-member board of SPCDF has been elected unopposed. Ashok Chaudhary represents the Mehsana District Cooperative Milk Producers Union. Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of GCMMF, represents the federation.

Other directors are Sabhesinh Parmar (Kaira), Shamalbhai Patel (Sabarkantha), Sangaram Chaudhary (Banaskantha), Hemant Patel (Surat-Tapi), Jethabhai Ahir (Panchmahal), Rajeshkumar Patel (Valsad), Jivabhai Patel (Bharuch), Shankarsinh Rana (Gandhinagar), Valamjibhai Humbal (Kutch), Khagen Patgiri (Shakti Dugdha Utpadak), Ms Radhikabai Chavhan (Kanubhai Dudh Utpadak), and Vijay Singh (Paramhanspuri Dugdh Utpadak Sahakari Samiti).

SPCDF was launched by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.

The federation has an initial capital of ₹200 crore and plans to connect over 20 lakh farmers across 20 states.

The initiative is named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
