Heatwave Conditions Grip Gujarat; Ahmedabad Hottest at 44.2°C

Ahmedabad: Large parts of Gujarat continued to reel under intense heat on Monday, with several inland centres recording maximum temperatures above 43°C, according to the weather report by the India Meteorological Department. Ahmedabad remained among the hottest locations, recording a maximum temperature of 44.2°C, which is 2.6°C above normal, while the minimum settled at 25.7°C.
Bhuj also witnessed severe heat at 43.8°C, followed by Gandhinagar at 43.4°C, Amreli and Rajkot at 43.3°C each, and Deesa at 42.2°C, all registering above-normal temperatures. In contrast, coastal areas experienced relatively milder conditions, with Dwarka at 32.3°C, Veraval at 32.9°C, and Okha at 33.6°C. Surat and Daman also remained on the cooler side at 35.1°C and 35.2°C respectively.
Humidity levels varied significantly across the state, with coastal regions such as Veraval (90%), Dwarka (86%), and Diu (90%) reporting high morning humidity, while interior regions like Ahmedabad (44%) and Gandhinagar (46%) recorded comparatively lower levels. Evening humidity dropped sharply in most inland areas.
Overall, hot and dry conditions prevailed across Gujarat, especially in northern and central parts, while coastal belts remained relatively moderate due to maritime influence. DeshGujarat
