April 30, 2026
Ahmedabad: Gujarat experienced a marginal respite from intense summer heat on Wednesday, with maximum temperatures across most parts of the state seeing a decline, according to the latest weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department.
In Ahmedabad, the maximum temperature settled at 42.6°C, around 1 degree above normal, while neighbouring Gandhinagar recorded 42.2°C. Rajkot remained among the hottest places in the state at 43.0°C. Both Rajkot and Ahmedabad have seen temperatures above 43°C over the last few days.
Several other inland regions reported relatively lower temperatures compared to previous days. Vadodara recorded 40.2°C, while Amreli registered 42.1°C. Bhavnagar and Bhuj recorded 40.0°C and 39.8°C respectively.
Coastal areas continued to remain comparatively cooler under maritime influence. Surat recorded 34.2°C, while Porbandar and Dwarka reported temperatures of 34.2°C and 32.6°C respectively. Diu remained the coolest at 32.8°C.
Despite the slight dip in daytime temperatures, minimum temperatures remained above normal in several cities, indicating persistent warm nights. Ahmedabad recorded a minimum of 27.6°C, while Gandhinagar stood at 27.0°C.
Humidity levels were moderate to high, particularly in coastal regions, with morning relative humidity ranging between 61% and 90% across stations.
The marginal drop in maximum temperatures has brought limited relief, though heat conditions continue to prevail in several parts of Gujarat. DeshGujarat
