Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has officially accepted the voluntary retirement of senior IAS officer D.P. Desai, according to a notification issued by the General Administration Department on April 30.

As per the notification, D.P. Desai, a 2008-batch IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre, was serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA). He had submitted his notice for voluntary retirement on March 9, 2026, expressing his intention to step down from service effective April 30, 2026.

The state government stated that the competent authority has accepted his request under Rule 16(2) of the All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958. Consequently, Desai has been permitted to retire voluntarily with effect from April 30, 2026 (afternoon). DeshGujarat
