Dip in Maximum Temperatures Across Gujarat; Heat Eases Marginally
May 01, 2026
Ahmedabad: A marginal dip in maximum temperatures was recorded across several parts of Gujarat on April 30 compared to the previous day, offering slight relief from prevailing heat conditions, according to the latest weather report by the India Meteorological Department.
In Ahmedabad, the maximum temperature fell to 41.7°C on April 30 from 42.6°C recorded a day earlier, registering a drop of nearly 1°C and settling 1.4 degrees below normal. Similarly, Gandhinagar saw a decline from 42.2°C to 41.0°C, while Rajkot recorded a slight fall from 43.0°C to 42.4°C, though it remained above normal.
Amreli witnessed a sharper drop of 1.4°C, with the maximum temperature decreasing from 42.1°C to 40.7°C. Bhuj and Deesa also recorded marginal declines, while coastal centres such as Surat (33.8°C) and Veraval (31.3°C) continued to remain relatively cooler. Surat showed a dip of 0.4°C, while Baroda fell from 40.2°C to 39.8°C, staying 3.3 degrees below normal. Kandla saw a significant fall from 39.0°C to 36.3°C, indicating variability in local conditions.
Minimum temperatures across the state remained largely stable, with most stations recording slightly above-normal night temperatures. Humidity levels during morning hours ranged between 64% and 88% across stations, contributing to warm and slightly uncomfortable conditions.
The overall trend indicates a minor easing of peak heat intensity in several inland regions, though temperatures continue to hover around the 40°C mark, suggesting that hot weather conditions persist across Gujarat. DeshGujarat
