Singapore to Set Up AI Indoor Garden on Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad

Surat: Singapore has announced plans to develop a first-of-its-kind “AI-powered indoor garden” along the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad. The announcement was made by Simon Wong during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference held in Surat on Friday.

Wong also stated that Singapore-based firm Surbana Jurong is executing Phase 1 of the riverfront project connecting GIFT City in Gandhinagar with Ahmedabad. Addressing the inaugural session at Auro University, he highlighted strong bilateral trade ties, noting that one in four Singaporean women wear diamonds processed in Surat, while a similar proportion wear denim manufactured in the city.

He further said that nearly 50% of India’s exports to Singapore originate from Gujarat, spanning sectors such as petrochemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, machinery, and jewellery. Wong also hinted at a major announcement at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit scheduled for January next year.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, along with Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, and Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Patil, visited various exhibition pavilions and interacted with industrialists and startup representatives.

The two-day conference covers six districts of South Gujarat and brings together stakeholders from industry, agriculture, MSMEs, and the services sector. DeshGujarat
