Gujarat Board Schools Academic Calendar 2026–27 ; Classes from June 8, 21 days Diwali vacation, 35 days Summer vacation

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has released the academic calendar for the 2026–27 academic year, outlining key dates for school sessions, vacations, and examinations.
As per the calendar, the new academic year will begin on June 8, 2026. The first semester will continue until November 4, 2026, spanning approximately 120 days of instruction.
Vacations and Term Structure
Students will get a Diwali vacation from November 5 to November 25, 2026 (21 days). The second semester will commence on November 26, 2026, and continue until May 2, 2027 (124 days).
A Summer vacation has been scheduled from May 3 to June 6, 2027 (35 days).
Overall, the academic year will include:
- 244 working days
- 21 days of Diwali vacation
- 35 days of summer vacation
- 20 days of Public holidays
- 4 days of local holidays
- Total 80 holidays (barring Sundays)
Board Examination Schedule
The board examinations for Classes 10 and 12 will begin on February 25, 2027, and conclude on March 17, 2027.
Other Key Exam Dates
- First Tests (Std. 9–12): October 22 to November 2, 2026
- Preliminary Exams (Std. 10–12): January 18 to January 28, 2027
- School level board subjects exams: 1 to 3 February
- Practical Exams (12th Science): February 5 to February 13, 2027
- School-level Annual Exams (Std. 9 to 11): April 5 to April 20, 2027
The board has instructed schools to complete the syllabus within the stipulated academic days and ensure timely conduct of internal and practical examinations.
