Surat: Stones fell from a moving dumper truck onto the car of Minister of State and Kamrej MLA Praful Panseria in Laskana area of Surat, following which actions were taken against 8 such dumper trucks that were operating in violation of rules.

The dumper ahead of the minister’s vehicle was carrying soil and stones without a cover of tarpaulin. During transit, stones fell from the dumper and hit the minister’s car. No injuries were reported.

Following the incident, Minister Panseria stopped at the spot and halted the vehicle. On his instructions, Laskana police reached the location and detained eight dumpers found operating in violation of transport rules. The vehicles were seized and legal action, including fines, was initiated.

Police stated that the detained dumpers were transporting material in an uncovered condition and were not complying with safety norms.

Local residents said that such dumpers operate regularly on the route and that complaints had been made earlier to authorities regarding similar violations. DeshGujarat
