Gujarat Maritime Board to Modernise Four Key Ports; Invites Bids for DPRs

Gandhinagar: Four state-run ports are set to be modernised, as the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) has invited bids to appoint a consultant for preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for their comprehensive development. The ports include Jamnagar, Okha, Porbandar and Bhavnagar.

According to GMB, the move is part of a broader plan to develop modern, efficient, secure and sustainable maritime infrastructure in line with national priorities and global standards. Gujarat, already a leading maritime state, aims to enhance cargo handling capacity and strengthen its logistics network through this initiative.

Scope of Work

The selected consultant will undertake a wide range of tasks, including preparing traffic demand and forecast reports to assess industrial growth in the hinterland. The scope also includes mathematical model studies covering storm surges, design waves and mooring analysis.

In addition, the consultant will prepare detailed plans for navigational aids and port crafts, and draft tender documents under EPC, PPP and HAM models for project execution. The entire assignment is expected to be completed within 18 months. DeshGujarat
